Next time you go to the store keep this in mind:
1. The longer an item is able to last on the shelf, the worse it is for you
2. NEVER eat any item that has hydrogenated or partly hydrogenated oils/fats in the ingredients!
3. Avoid refined sugars and high-fructose corn syrup at ALL costs!
4. NEVER eat foods that are enriched. FYI generally white breads are!
These are some interesting rules i never knew. I didn't realize that most white breads were enriched next time i get bread i will have to look for that if it says it on the package. I also didn't know that the longer it can stay on the shelf the worse it is for you, although it makes sense. I wonder what this says for Twinkies and honey which can last up for years and years! lol
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting these junk food rules
This is great checklist to have if you are buying healthy foods, and it makes it easy to understand what types of foods to shop for in the store. I really like that list gives a reminder about hydrogenated ingredients. There are a lot of processed foods that contain hydrogenated fat or oil, which often make weight loss difficult. Hydrogenated fat is also very unhealthy and harmful to our hearts.
